Just Another Midweek Message: Prayer and Peace (Philippians 4)

We were grateful to have Paul Crowe visit us last Sunday and preach from Philippians 4.  Paul is an elder at our planting church, Newtown Evangelical Church.  If you want to find out more about them, visit their website at: newtownevangelical.org/

In this message, Paul explores what it means to bring all our anxieties to the Lord in prayer, and the peace that God then gives to us as we pour out our hearts to him.

The Midweek Message: Grace Expectations (Matthew 11)

In the gospel of Matthew, chapter 11, Jesus forecasts sorrow for the communities that have rejected him.  He warns them of a day of judgment.  However, having said "woe to you", he goes on to say "come to me" and offers them an amazing alternative to God's judgment.

In this message, we consider what the Bible says about judgment and what it means to find rest in Jesus Christ.

Just Another Melodic Monday - The Good Song

We're grateful for the children that come regularly to our Sunday morning services.  Sometimes they outnumber the adults!  As there are so many children present, we always sing a children's song before they go to Sunday school.

Seeds Family Worship take Bible verses and set them to music, and here is one of their songs, combining Psalm 34:10 with Romans 8:28.  The children love this song (and the actions) but singing it as a round is a challenge for some of the adults!

The Midweek Message - Better off dead, so why choose life? (Philippians 1)

In his letter to the Philippian Christians, Paul makes a remarkable statement - "to die is gain" (1:21).  He goes on to say that life in heaven with Christ will be "far better" than life on earth (1v23).  So why doesn't Paul just sit at the sidelines and wait for the next life?  Why does he instead throw himself at life on earth, putting himself in danger and pain?  In this message we explore why, even though as Christians we are better off dead, we must choose life.

Just Another Melodic Monday - How Deep The Father's Love For Us

"How deep the Father's love for us" was written by Stuart Townend in 1995. It draws our attention to the immense love of God and the glory of Jesus Christ, both of which are displayed at the cross.

Just Another Melodic Monday - Ancient Words

This modern hymn was written by Lynn DeShazo and is performed here by Michael W. Smith.  The lyric express an appreciation for the power and importance of God's Word, the Bible, and a desire to be changed by it.

Another Midweek Message: Faith and Doubt (Matthew 11)

In this message, we consider if it is possible to have faith and doubt at the same time as John the Baptist seeks reassurance from Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 11.
